Description:

The District 4 representative serves as a Co-Coordinator of the GLATA ATs Care peer-support CISM team along with the D11 representative. The Co-Coordinators are appointed by the respective District Directors with approval from the Executive Board, for a five-year term, renewable for up to three additional years.  Coordinators will be evaluated by the District Directors and Secretary prior to a request and/or consideration for re‐appointment.  The roles and responsibilities of the Co-Coordinators are as follows:The Co-Coordinators are responsible to coordinate and oversee the functions of the GLATA ATs Care Team under the GLATA Policies & Procedures Manual.  The Co-Coordinators work with the NATA ATs Care Commission staff liaison to ensure the smooth operation of the GLATA ATs Care team.  The responsibilities of the Co-Coordinators include, but may not be limited to the following: 

  • Attends Executive Board meetings in a non‐voting capacity at the request of the President.
  • Serves as a member of the individual state’s ATs Care Team and/or the NATA ATs Care program.
  • Provides Executive Board with regular updates concerning NATA ATs Care program.
  • Organizes and coordinates all educational programming in conjunction with the Education Committee.
  • Submits an annual budget request per GLATA specified timelines.
  • Provides a written report to the GLATA President for presentation to the Executive Board at all scheduled meetings.
  • Provides additional duties as assigned by the GLATA President.
  • Schedule and conduct team meetings.
  • Work with the NATA ATs Care Commission staff liaison to develop and maintain appropriate records of requests for peer-support/CISM intervention, educational and training projects and other commission activities.
  • Report team activity to the GLATA BOD as requested.
  • Communicate with Clinical Director.
  • Communicate with the ICISF as necessary on team related matters.
  • Evaluate team members.

    Required Experience

    • Have been a practicing athletic trainer for, at minimum, five years.
    • Have completed ICISF Assisting Individuals in Crisis or Group Crisis Intervention Training.
    • Have served on an ATs Care CISM Team for at least three years.
    • Commit to serving on the ATs Care Commission for at least five years (eight years maximum).
    • Am willing to undergo the three-year training process to become an International Critical Incident Support Foundation Instructor (details at https://www.icisf.org/teach-a-course/), including facilitating courses as needed to provide Peer Support Provider training.
    • Willing to co-lead a Critical Incident Stress Management Committee in District 4.
    • Willing to act as the liaison between the ATs Care Commission and GLATA’s ATs Care CISM Team Coordinators within District 4.

    Recommended Experience

    • Have experience as a team coordinator for a CISM team
    • Have completed both ICISF Assisting Individuals in Crisis or Group Crisis Intervention Training
    • Have completed either ICISF Advanced Assisting Individuals in Crisis or Advanced Group Crisis Intervention Training
    • Have served as a team coordinator for an ATs Care CISM Team
