The COPA Rehabilitation Clinic Committee Chair is responsible for leading the committee as a subject matter expert in clinical rehabilitation practice. Preference is given to ATs practicing/supervising as an unrestricted HCP. The committee is charged with identifying and creating resources for ATs in the rehabilitation clinic settings.
The Council of Practice Advancement is comprised of members who represent a variety of settings within its ten committees. These ten committees include: Armed Forces, Rehabilitation Clinic, Health Care Administration, Occupational, Performing Arts, Physician Practice, Private and Emerging Practice, Public Safety, Community Outreach and Analytics and Outcomes. The mission of COPA is to represent the professional practice settings of athletic training by increasing awareness, demonstrating value and assisting in efforts to expand and advance the profession.
This sub-committee represents those athletic trainers who are working in rehabilitation settings, some of which may be employed as clinical outreach. Often, clinical athletic trainers are unrepresented and can be affected by regulations or employment changes. This sub-committee will be a resource for them and will provide education resources, and assistance with current issues these members encounter in this setting. In addition, this sub-committee will respond to issues as they arise and work within COPA and the NATA to create and advance opportunities in these sectors.
NATA committee chairs serve two-year terms, renewable once for a total of four years.
