Description:

The DEIA Council has two open at-large positions to provide insight, expertise, and/or experience in areas not currently represented by the Council membership.

The DEIA Council is a non-district-based Council, that consists of the DEIA Council Chair, DEIA Vice-Chair, Chair of the Ethnic Diversity Advisory Council, Chair of the LGBTQ+ Advisory Council, Chair of the Accessibility Work Group, two AT-Large members, NATA Board Liaison and NATA Staff Liaison.

The DEIA Council member-at-large position is designed to fill knowledge gaps, as identified by the DEIA Council Chair and Vice-Chair, in subject matters related to diversity, equity, inclusion and access that are not being addressed by other Council subgroups or within the NATA structure (i.e., Religion, Age, Gender, Equity, and etc.).

By lending their expertise and insight, at-large members play a pivotal role in advancing NATA outcomes and impact related to DEIA. At-large members contribute to the overall success and effectiveness of NATA as it strives to infuse its DEIA commitments.

At-large members must be able to engage confidentially and respectfully in discussion, plans and other sensitive information.  They must also pose no conflict of interest to NATA.
