Recently, I read an article discussing the difference between Private secondary schools and Public secondary schools and providing athletic training services. As someone who grew up in private schools and now works in a public school, it is interesting to see how they provide athletic training services differently. Positives from the article were that full time athletic training coverages were increasing in both sets of schools. The concerning numbers were that there are more student athletes and sports thus athletic trainers in both schools are having a difficult time covering events equally. In my school district, there are district stadiums that hold all the sports events. Thus, I cannot but at practices and games at the same time. To me, this article helps promote that there should be multiple athletic trainers working at the schools to help provide better care to the student athletes. Please let me know if you have any thoughts as well!
